Earlier on this year, for our second interview, we ventured a few hours north to visit Rachel Wardley of Tallulah Rose Flower school and were excited and chatting about the interview the whole way up.

The weather was grey, cold, wet and windy but we were welcomed into Rachel’s beautiful studio at Levens Hall just outside Kendal in Cumbria and warmed up with fresh coffee and biscuits.

Inside the studio were the leftover arrangements from the previous days flower school and I think we fell in love with Rachel within seconds. Her calm and relaxed manor could put even the most nervous of souls at ease.

Rachel was kind enough to let me take a few pictures of her and Lemi and her lovely space so I am going to share them with you. I definitely need to try to tidy up my space after visiting here.

Pop over and listen to her beautiful voice and wise words on the podcast. We both came away felling refreshed and ready to make changes to our designs and businesses. No wonder so many wonderful florists have started their journeys with a course at Tallulah Rose.

Thank you so much once again xxx

So I’m going to give you an insight into the life of Jess and Vic… seriously this. couldn’t have happened to anyone else! We may seem like we are totally in control on the podcast (hopefully anyway) but in life this is bloody typical.eWe left Rachel on a total high and headed for our Air B&B a few miles down the road, a lovely little cottage where we planned to drink some wine and edit the episode. We arrived and lit the little log burner and put the wine in the freezer to cool but the freezer was really stacked full of really frosty and random food with no shelves in there so it looked as though it may fall out. I made a joke about having to remove the shelves to freeze the body ??? This did not go down well with Vic. On closer inspection the fridge was really dirty and there were cups and plates in the sink as though someone had left for work in a rush. We then got paranoid that we were going to be sharing the cottage with the owner and checked…we did have use of the whole house! Vic went to check upstairs and the beds were not clean either which was a big put off. We then found a gun (probably just an air rifle) propped up by the back door with two cricket bats… I then joked with Vic that we were going to be shot and frozen in a dirty freezer ? 30 seconds later, bags and wine in hand we were back in the car and heading for the nearest Premier Inn where we got totally pissed and joked all night about narrowly escaping death ? I think I would have totally freaked out later in the night had we stayed as the wind blew a hoooly and the rain came down but we were safe in our Inn beds.

The next morning we had the best breakfast I have ever had in The cafe and antiques centre that Rachel suggested and laughed the whole way home. Lesson learned… just because its cheap doesn’t mean its good ?
